Adaptogens: The Secret To Stress Reduction
2020 has demanded that we find the strength and tools needed to combat the effects of stress. Along with breathwork, mindfulness, and balanced nutrition, I find power in the plant medicine of adaptogens.
What is an Adaptogen?
Adaptogen: “…A plant extract that is held to increase the body’s ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and promote or restore normal physiological functioning”
Adaptogens can be found in powder, teas, tinctures, and more. Adaptogens are potent and effective plant extracts that positively affect our mood, hormones, and mental health.
Adaptogen’s + Herbs for Stress:
- Rhodiola: Energy, Clarity + Focus
- Maca: Hormonal Balance + Libido
- Shilajit (use code SAMK20 for 20% off your jar!)
- Holy Basil: Relaxation
- Reishi: Grounding stress relief + Immune Support
- Chaga: Immune System Support

What Adaptogens Are Right For Me?
Look into each adaptogen based on your needs and remember that ailments are often connected.
Stress can be a result of sleep issues, hormonal imbalance can result in stress, and stress results in low immunity.
Because of this, you must treat the core of your ailments to support a total mind/body transformation and the key to seeing the benefits of adaptogens is consistency, proper serving size, and rotation of adaptogens.
